Fluid Research Corporation was
founded in 1996 to design, manufacture and distribute plural component
dispense systems for industrial applications. These systems are used to
meter, mix and dispense plural component reactive resins such as
epoxies, urethanes and silicones. The systems can also be used for
plural component paints. Our equipment is used to automatically mix and
dispense these materials on ratio at programmed flow rates. The systems
utilize patented control and pumping technology to provide flexibility
and reliability.
The origin of Fluid Research Corporation: A
need...
A company called Balboa Instruments is the leading
manufacturer of electronic control systems for spas. In the late 80's,
Balboa developed a production requirement for dispensing two component
silicone materials to "pot" controls. A flexible system was required to
accommodate a variety of part designs. The shot sizes range from a few
grams to several hundred grams. High reliability was critical to
minimize defects and control costs. A progressing cavity pump system
proved to be the solution.
Fluid Research Corporation was
founded to commercialize this technology. Our expertise is dispensing
multi-component resins in the manufacture of high volume industrial
components. Balboa Instruments continues to use Fluid Research equipment
in their production.
Progressing cavity pumps are capable of
processing filled materials with significantly less wear than alternate
technologies. They can also process delicate fillers such as glass
spheres without damaging the integrity of the filler. Our systems are
also frequently used for unfilled materials due to their flexibility and
accuracy. The systems provide high value due to low maintenance
requirements and high flexibility. One system can be used to accommodate
a variety of shot sizes, flow rates and ratios. The control system
allows changeover from one dispense routine to another in a few
seconds.
Fluid Research Corporation has manufactured and
installed plural component dispense systems around the world. Our
systems are commonly used to manufacture DC to DC converters, electrical
connectors, filters and electronic control modules. They are also used
in the production of silicone molds for the entertainment industry, edge
bonding of battery caps and assembly of medical devices and musical
instruments.
Fluid Research Corporation has built a reputation
for reliable metering, mixing and dispensing of plural component filled
and unfilled materials. Our goal is to use technology to provide
dispense systems to our customers that create value through increased
productivity. We are continuously working to improve our current
technology and develop new technology to exceed the expectations of our
customers. Our current product line extends from tabletop dispense
models for prototype and low volume production to multi-valve dispense
systems for fully automated lines producing thousands of parts per day.
