Robotic Integration

Integrating robotic motion into dispensing solutions is quickly becoming one of the most popular upgrades within the dispensing industry.

Robotic integration isRobotic movement the marriage of a dispensing machine with a robotic (XYZ, SCARA) motion to create the most consistent, repeatable, and labor-free solution possible.

Robotic dispensing integration can vary from XYZ motion. Sometimes called Cartesian Robotic, it features the dispense head moving on an XY plane (left to right) and the table moving on a Z motion (up/down). This creates the ability to move across all two dimensional fields, offering a solution that allows complete 1 sided coverage. Doming labels generally utilize XYZ motion (download doming video) in their solutions. The benefit to integrating an XYZ robot into your solution is accuracy — they are the most accurate robotic integration available.

SCARA robotic movement (Selective Compliant Assembly Robot Arm) moves in the XYZ motion; but also moves in unlimited rotary actions. The theta motion is rotation, which allows all sides of the product to be dispensed with no human intervention — furthering consistency and repeatability.

SCARA also features the jointed two-link arm layout similar to our human arms, hence the often-used term, Articulated. This feature allows the arm to extend into confined areas and then retract or "fold up" out of the way. SCARA's single pedestal mount requires a small footprint and provides an easy, unhindered mounting.

Many industries understand the importance of robotic dispensing integration. The automotive gasketing and sealing industries use both SCARA and XYZ motion to dispense adhesive sealant onto their parts.
