Potting
Potting is the process of encasing an article in an enclosure with a resinous material, pouring a liquid resin into the housing to completely surround the article. The housing remains attached to the potted article.
Encapsulating
Encapsulating is the same as potting, only the housing is removed, but the article remains covered by the material on all sides.
